As you know, we don’t follow the same path. But, I have studied the Bible, and I do think you are a great example of what Christianity was meant to be. I don’t think you need to tell your friends anything about how you don’t want to change them–you live it, and that’s most important.

Ten years from now I hope to have seen more of this world, to have set foot on land beyond this continent.

I hope to hear my father’s voice, to still be able to gather three generations of family and share a meal.

Hopefully ten years from now I will have experienced, along with the rest of the world, the thrilling g shock of confirmation that life, simple microscopic life, exists beyond this pale blue dot.

Most of all, I look forward to conversing with the woman my daughter will be ten years from now.

The “too-heavy-to-carry” problem is one of the reasons I’m loving having a Kindle app on my phone. My library fits in my pocket now.

I’ve found the “author’s-name-larger-than-the-title” thing annoying, but I somehow manage to excuse it when it’s an author I’m particularly fond of. Take Stephen King, for example — I don’t really even need a title for those. “Here, it’s the latest Stephen King book, do you need to know what it’s called? Or what it’s about?” “Stop talking and take my money.”

Turn-ons
Subject; I’ve read clunky sci-fi and dry biographies just because the subject drew me in.

Authors I’ve enjoyed before (although Anne Rice left me feeling wronged).

Turn-offs
An ugly cover will send me running every time, especially poor quality CG people.

Anything on the cover that screams, “Must Read!”, “Essential Reading”, “Everybody’s Talking About-”.
